The first half of this album is iconic, but I can't actually stand the second half. I get really frustrated by the time it finishes up lol. It has tonnes of character too, just a shame everything post El Mañana is skippable.

That first comment here... Oh man. Cannot relate at all.

That joyous, enormously theatrical, celebratory finale trio lends thematic power to this all. Don't understand disliking that or any of the tracks before, oh my.

Every Planet is decent, and Dare at a push... But I'm genuinely not arsed by anything else at the back end of this album. Even when I was a kid, I just switch off lol.

Like wtf even is White Light?

November is a bit of a snoozer for me, it's not terrible though. Feels a bit filler still in my opinion.

Yeah well you think the new album is better than this so I’ve set my expectations for you accordingly

I wouldn't exactly say it's better, I still prefer O Green World, Feel Good Inc and El Mañana over anything on Cracker Island. That album still has moments I switch off on too, like the opening track and Tired Influencer.

They're both mixed bags personally, one is more consistent, the other has higher peaks.

The new one is consistent I’ll give you that. Consistently dreadful.

should revisit this, remember most of it being good, some of it being really great, 75% of it sounding way better back-to-back, and Dare being hot steaming trash

Baby Queen, Skinny Ape and Possession Island are good jams though. Just wished they had more of that Gorillaz charm. Reminds me more of Blur's later albums if anything.

Skinny Ape is maybe the closest thing to a good song on the album at about a 2.5/5

@johnny nope

But if you didn’t grow up alongside Gorillaz I could see how one might have that terrible misconception

Wow I said that while I was literally on skinny ape and then that terrible distorted mid section happened and I take it back it’s a 1/5

Jesus fucking Christ
