It's not boring at all it just sounds a bit dated to me. And as chinese put it they became more interesting from here on. They progressed and enhanced their musical and technical skills which resulted in better songwriting and more innovative ideas. Plus production on the following albums is way better than on here.

I'd never say production on here is bad or something I just think production on VS and Vitalogy is miles ahead. It's as natural and organic as it gets imo and they are among the best produced albums I know.
