Come on that’s not too bad, was hoping for something juicier.

Like the The Devil Wears Prada and Underoath? Maybe Bring Me the Horizon. That's about as core as it got I think.

Nope. I wasn't necessarily expecting core stuff from 'girl pants' either, although still not sure what that means... however it does conjure up some nice images.

lol that was the style when I was like 18 or 19. If you listened to stuff like that- especially the more scene-core stuff- you likely wore girl pants and headbands lol.

OH that's what you mean by girl pants. I haven't heard the expression (thankfully) in like 10 years

“If this is supposed to be death metal about space monsters, where the fuck's Cthulu?”
So yea I know this is like 5 fucking years late but has anyone mentioned that Cthulu isn’t here because he’s a sea monster and not a space monster

He's a world destroyer, so based on that he must travel through space as well.

World destroyers and space travels suddenly bring to mind Noneuclid's debut. Sick album, that. And with more than one link to AB.

Cthulhu is a sea monster FROM space.
I'm glad there's no Cthulhu here though. Cthulhu, as much as I hate to say it being a big Lovecraft fan, as trite af at this point. Only The Great Old Ones and Sulphur Aeon do good Cthulhu shit in metal these days.

I've been thinking what the chuff Cthulhu was? I've seen it referenced a few times in metal.
|
| |
Go read some Lovecraft. It's great. Apart from the undercurrent of racism, that's not so great. Though it was the 1920s.

Does playing Bioshock and Dishonored count? I can't read.

Not even slightly Lovecraftian. Try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqIxCqayQok

What am I confusing it with then?

Steampunk/Alternative History from the sounds of it.

I don't think anyone has mentioned it but Obliteration's new album directly references Lovecraftian themes throughout, even saying Cthulhu's name in a song (Onto Damnation)
Chthe'ilist also does it but they changed all the names

How do you pronounce that last one
