if a girl is pretending to care about your passion for music then that's a really good sign she's into you. congrats. most of my relationships have started with me rambling on about music to a girl and her actually paying attention and listening to the songs and feigning interest. you later learn she doesn't really care about post-rock or emo, but it's a nice indicator that she is interested in you, and enjoys seeing you be passionate about something.

more often than not they are pretending. but it's a good thing. i eventually got my girlfriend onto anberlin, who she now loves, but
all those times i sent her songs by caspian and slowdive and ef, she didn't really care and they were never gonna make their way onto
the ipod, but she always listened to them and said nice things about them and it's because she wanted me to like her. it's nice. and
nowadays, even though i sometimes bore her when i talk about music, she still gets happy to see me excited. it's also the main
quality i look for in a girl.

i've found my girlfriend tends to enjoy heavier stuff. she loves russian circles after hearing me play their new one in the car. and some of the heavier pg.lost songs (terrain, mainly). might make her a mixtape of heavy post-rock. i showed her this album, though, and she said it just sounded like snow patrol but not as good. nearly slapped her lol.
