I just listened to most of their discography for the first time in many years and am inclined to agree, except about the s/t which I find pretty tedious, but still good of course. This band was very important to me growing up and I was much more of a metal fan then. Not sure if I can say JoF is better than Dirt, but it’s close for sure, and if the former were longer then it’d probably be true.

It’s overlong tbh. Scalpel could’ve been cut and I wouldn’t have been too upset. Phantom Limb didn’t need to be 7+ mins imo. Honestly a lot of these songs are near or over the 6 minute mark and they don’t really need to be.
Thing is though, not sure what I’d cut from most of that. Idk listening to this whole record feels like a chore but I love most of the songs individually.
