Weather Systems > We're Here Because We're Here tbh
This is probably their best album

Agreed with the first part, but their best is definitely Judgement imo

Yeah, it's between this and Judgement IMO.
The Beginning And The End is my personal favorite Anathema song though. I heard they're releasing an album sometime this year

The beginning and the end is probably my favourite as well. Stunning build up and solo.

Oh man, I wonder what direction they're going for this one.
Distant Satellites was great but some the electronic stuff at the end was a bit of a bore IMO.
I'm excited though

I love DS' title track, but a whole album in that style would probably go wrong. I'm very excited to see what's next either way though

They perfected the use of electronic elements in storm before the calm Imo. I want more of that stuff

Not sure how you can prefer this to WHBWH dude

this is just as good.....better from start to finish imo

How tho pls explain yourself
The production is so much better on WHBWH for one thing, songwriting more complex and less repetitive, the lyrics more genuine and less cliché

My fave anathema cause of internal landscapes. Very personal relationship with that song and a family member passing away as I got into this album.

disagreed on the production - weather systems sounds even better on an audiophile sound system, the songwriting is fantastic soundscape wise, lyrics have nothing to do with the 'sound', and the back end of this is a little bit better than the back end of WHBWH, and Drummerboy agrees haha.....i can see the masses don't necessarily disagree either as both albums have an overall of 4......WHBWH was my favorite and who knows, might still be, it's very close
oh yeah, and Lee Douglas is absolutely STUNNING on here

I agree with Ocean's points about WHBWH having more complex songwriting and better lyrics than this, but they're close. And about the averages, to be fair WHBWH is one decimal point from being 4.1 and this is a decimal point away from a 3.9

small sample size.....4 others on this page alone agree that this is better....if we're going tit for tat
they are identical on rym as well haha
end of the day, 2 awesome records

The only thing I'd prefer on here is more Lee Douglas and some of their vocal harmonies, and WHBWH dipped in quality a bit around the middle but yea both albums are excellent.

I love the opening few songs on here, they're some of Anathema's best tracks.

I adore the trilogy of Gathering of the Clouds, Lightning Song, and Sunlight. I don't know if I'd like the songs as much if they would stand on their own, but how build up on each other is so beautiful to witness, it gets me every time
