Cool story indeed, was it Brett Stowers? (drummer)

Although Brett recorded this one too, he quit afterwards.

Was it maybe Jason Pintler? he only played on The Carbon Copy though... I think...

The other guy that quit was the bass player, but he did play in this album, he quit before touring, so yeah, I don't know anymore lol

Been reflecting on some of my favorite albums of the decade which caused me to revisit this one and man, it's still so fucking good.

Fables is better than this, but not in this decade... otherwise it would have taken a top 10 spot. This was definitely in my Top 50 list, though.

Amarillo Sleeps On My Pillows is such a killer jam. Their tongue in cheek vox and banjo intro is such a unique approach to an alt metal(or whatever you wanna call this band) sound.

I think they were screwed from the begining because they got tied up with the System of a Down crowd by being 'found' and signed by the System vocalist. The advertising tried to play up the System/Midland connection too, when there really wasn't any similarities.

Agree Willie, I don't know what kind of fuckery went into play with Serj's label that ended up financially breaking the band. How is that even possible? They were touring and selling like many other bands, and still they went bankrupt.

That happens a lot to bands that end up on someone else's vanity label. These guys don't generally have the ability or know-how to run a label, but they've become famous enough to force some executive's hand.

They would have been better off on an established label that knew how to advertise and market a band. These guys' entire marketing scheme seemed to be, "The band found by the dipshit in System of a Down". I remember reading something to that effect and blowing them off. It was only after hearing them on Pandora that I gave them a chance.

I knew them before they signed with Tankian and hell, if they had got the proper backup these guys would have been huuuuge. Really, for me personally, the great loss of this past decade.

This album still rocks. Made my decade top 50 as well. Wish they'd reunite.

I've lost hope at this point, but if Pure Reason Revolution returned after 10 years everything is possible now.

Believe!
