This might very well make it but it's hard to say. There's been great USBM out there (WitTR, Weakling, Leviathan, Cobalt, Fell Voices and so much more)

Oh shit you said USBM I thought you meant bm in general. Well I'd probably say Diadem (WITTR), Sunbather (Deafheaven), Quietly Undramatically (Woe), 2009 Demo (Ash Borer), Massive Conspiracy Against All Life (Leviathan).

That's just off the top of my head but I'd say those would probably be my 5 in no particular order. Lots of great USBM though for sure.

Solid choices. I got thinking about a top 5. I mean Dead as Dreams and Diadem are hard not to mention. It's hard to dismiss some OG stuff such as Judas Iscariot and Thestral. But the quality in the last 10 years has changed significantly. It's hard to say.

Edit: Caladran Brood...Fauna...

I love Dead As Dreams but not as much as most people around here do. Still an easy 4 though agreed.

Judas Iscariot's whole discog is excellent too. I'm a big Xasthur fan as well, but I know a lot of people don't dig them. Telepathic With the Deceased could be a top 5 USBM album too though tbh.

Just ordered The Irrepassable Gate on vinyl. I must say that album has really grown on me. At first I was bummed out because their sound seemed to change a whole lot from what I knew and loved from Ash Borer, but I've finally accepted that its different and that's ok. It's great for what it is imo.

PS: I'm surprised theres no review for it yet

I love that album. Might be their "weakest" so far, but it's still a solid 4 for me.

I actually don't mind deafheaven myself, but i don't have them held in the regard most people seem to. They're alright for me and that's about it.

Cold of Ages and Irrelevant Gate both have crappy production and suck. Downrate or be annihilated.
