Non serious music kinda sucks...I mean afaic its one serious artistic take (and yap, it has a lot more than trems on close listen, and that s whats cool here) that can only make sense if you take it seriously. I mean, most bm (and dm for that matter) is meant to take you out from where you re standing to another place...an evil one in this case...embrace it, or fuck off simbolic XD

i think it depends how the musicians approach it

zappa was an incredible composer, and even in bm you have immortal and shit that peaked pretty high

some bands though like tenacious d, dethklok, nanowar of steel etc have nothing to offer but some level of self-awareness and self-reference, musically they are essentially complete retreads of the most basic tropes of their genres
