Just stop calling it country music. It isn't even really country-pop (ala Suzy Boggus or Trisha Yearwood) it is just pop. And I SUPPOSE with all the dreck out there these days somebody even marginally talented get heaps of praise because we are starving for good music but um... HELLOOOOOO.... last time I checked Emmylou Harris and Kathy Mattea were still alive and making records. And also this new band The Trishas ain't too bad neither if we're talking country. So I have to ask is worth my time to listen to Taylor Swift whom has gotten mixed reviews and has bad vocals or go with an artist who hasn't really let me down. I only have so much time on the planet you know?

Also, since Taylor Swift can't sing, she could work on phrasing over like Carole King does or just be a song-writer for other people. There is no shame in that. Look at Linda Perry crankin' out hit and hit.

I can see why people hate on Swift but honestly she's not nearly as bad as people make her out to be. I should hate her music with a passion. My gf is obsessed with her, I hate almost everything that even resembles country, I hate her lyrics (ugh), and I hate most mainstream pandering pop. And yet, I still find some of her tunes quite appealing. I definitely never thought I would end up defending her. Ever.



Her lyrics suck hard and her dating habits are questionable. But damn if some of her songs aren't infectious in the best of ways.
