This album is a total grower, especially the second half of it. Fiction, Save Me and Victim are all great tracks, and I think that this album could've really benefited from a change in the order of the track listing.



Anyone who comes to a review for an album by a band that they obviously dislike needs to find better things to do with their time...I love all the haters that talk shit on A7X incessantly yet despite all of the elitist snobbery and negativity, this band continues to improve with every release (I'm in the minority apparently as I enjoyed their self-titled LP quite thoroughly) and there's a reason that they debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 with the release of Nightmare last year. Not everything that is popular is necessarily shitty music (and A7X is not even *that* popular, compared to other bands out there).



There's a very real possibility that half of the people on here giving this a 1 or a 2 and ragging on the band never even took the time to actually sit down and listen to this album before giving a subjective review. Avenged Sevenfold will never be some massively technical metal/super hardcore type band - nor are they attempting to be what they are not.



Anyone who has been to one of their live shows or even seen a good quality video of one of their performances would be a fool to try and claim that they are not talented musicians, and that they don't put on a great concert. How many other bands out there can make the transition from studio to stage and actually sound *better* on stage?



Anyway, I won't go on some super long rant, so I'll just say that perhaps some of you haters should either go outside, go to the reviews for bands that you *do* like, and always remember, music is a SUBJECTIVE opinion. Everyone, no matter who they are, has some kind of "guilty pleasure" band that they enjoy - or some artist that is widely reviled by most - and they continue to enjoy it regardless of what people think.



Rest in peace to Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan; glad I was able to meet The Rev, M Shadows and Syn Gates at Johnny's (a rock bar/pool hall in Huntington Beach, CA) a few years ago before The Rev passed. Nicest guys ever.
