Another shot at "Jetpacks was Yes" and I actually found the vocals bearable this time. I'm wondering why. My respect for Spencer's hitting of high notes is one thing, my loathing for the way his voice sounds when he does is another.

If you're referring to Meshuggah then yeah, they're better. But they don't have this melodic approach which makes Periphery (instrumental) fun.

Spencer has terrific cleans, albeit he is very young, and people may say he doesn't fit the music however his singing is a part of what makes Periphery. His best cleans are on Racecar and their new song Passenger
