Humanz has its highlights, but it is mostly a splatter of okay features and okay ideas, with not much in the way of flow or structure or perceptible theme. Worst of all, it doesn't *feel* like a Gorillaz album

We get some muffled Damon vocals, other than that it bears very little musical resemblance to previous Gorillaz. I do not imagine cool cartoon simians playing these songs, I see bored undercaffeinated musicians in a studio

Album sounds like an unfinished video game shipped two months early with the assurance that unfinished content will be patched in two weeks later. In the meantime, you can help yourself to some of the lovely DLC aka bonus tracks.

I dig saturn bars but it's one of those tracks where the feature takes over more than the actual artist.

i really dig that song's mix of the feature/damon, works perfectly and damon's part at the end is eargasmic

you know the only time the 'gorillaz magic' dies is when you are 10 years old and u actually believe they are actual cartoon characters come to life, playing real music! but then some asshole reveals to you that is just this Al-barn dude that played for some faggot band no one even cares about anymore and you go no way! I don't believe you, but then you listen to the band and to interviews and watch the Documentary DVD and realize that it's just a sad little man playing music in a sad little studio.

I tell you it was worse than finding out Santa is your mum and dad.

I think it works a lot better on some of the other songs. Andromeda like you said is a pretty strong track. Some songs are just really jarring

"Humanz is Various Artists ft. Damon Albarn."

This.

I miss when in the self titled, the album was half part collaborations. half part Damon.
