Well this is much heavier and kinda more like Meshuggah in some ways. Doesn't detract from how awesome this is though

Much more DM influence on this too, maybe the strongest presence of it since the debut. maybe also because of the atomic clock Gene himself?

This hardly death metulz and offers some of the most homogeneous writing in the band's catalogue

I've rated/commented on maybe 20-25 dm records, most of them recently/semi recently. So you are basing that "assumption" of my opinions on that little fraction of comments

industrial metal is a homogenous genre. all i care about is the guitars chugging and the drums melting my brain

yeah true as long as it keeps that industrial tone throughout with good chugs then it is kinda hard to mess up

"industrial metal is a homogenous genre."

far from it, fear factory sounds totally different to ministry or strapping young lad or godflesh just to name a few of the most prominent genre representatives.

not to mention rammstein, I'd go so far to say that industrial metal is one of the most diverse of the smaller subgenres of metal actually.

rammstein are interesting in that they kind of created their own sound of polished pop metal. i cant think of anything predating them that sounded like that

the closest you can get is stuff like eisbrecher which popped up afterwards almost as if to capitalise on the success of rammstein's sound :^)

Yeah, it really isn't a homogeneous genre. It's just Fear Factory have released a number of albums that are basically Demanufacture d-side comps

Including this one
