it's not as if this is the kind of album that you just play one song and stop so i'd assume that people would just listen when they have spare time but idk

really? i could never do that, i typically just lie down and soak it in, it's way too engaging for a background listen for me

are you sure post-rock is for you, BLUEOmni? :[

Didn't we just have have a conversation about how awesome Mono (a post-rock band) was a couple weeks

ago? (in the comments for "You Are There")

you should probably get over it. i used to have this album at a 2 for that reason and then i

decided there was probably a reason this album gets the attention it does.

You should probably get over my opposing opinion. I listened to the album twice (my god), and as I

stated, I didn't think it was bad (hence why it isn't a fucking 2). Songs are just too long. Don't

like the fact that I don't like that? Suck it up.

I mean you're really into a song it doesn't matter how long it goes, especially for post-rock. I mean the difference between a 10 minute and 20 minute post-rock song isn't even noticeable for me really.

Yeah, if you are a good Post-Rock band, or any band for that matter, song length does not matter.

I take my shit seriously >:O

And what he said was NOT accurate, nor was it inaccurate. I gave a completely subjective opinion on why I thought this album lacked, and was challenged with another subjective opinion. Obviously the length does matter, to me at least. Thus there is 'accuracy', if you want to call it that, in what I said.

I actually agree with you blueomni, Godspeed are an amazing band but the songs are immensely long and I can't always take 20 minutes + out of my time to listen one song

It's not that kind of music. You can just relax and lie down in bed or whatever and fall into this music. Or listen to it whilst doing something else that compliments it.

I don't understand the problem with long songs. Does anyone actually listen to music for 5 minutes and then stop? If not why does he care if he is going to listen to 1, 2 or 4 songs?

I've made the same point when arguing for long songs, Oathbreaker.

Anyone that thinks the songs are too long needs to quit listening to music.
