So easy to be a dick on the internet.
I wish I could block specific users and not have to read thier annoying little ego-driven jabs.

Doesn't hold a candle to Melancholie, but yeah, still rules hard.

I think it's right up there with this honestly. This is top 10 bm for me, but Autumn is amazing too.

"Doesn't hold a candle to Melancholie"
I'm afraid that's gonna get thrown around a lot.
I think it's pretty close.

Yeah.. it's hard to measure up to a genre classic like this, but he still did a pretty great job all things considered. The second I heard cleans my mind was blown a little bit by how great they were... and more than a little bit by the fact that they were there at all.

Yeah I feel you on that. The cleans are amazing though as are the female vox.

I prefer Autumn. More diverse, melodic, emotive, and cohesive imo. This is still amazing tho

^^^I can honestly see Autumn getting more plays than this over time for those exact reasons.
"There's no hope, there is no cure...for this disease. Staring into the blackest void...we won't find peace...we won't find peace"
Playing over and over again in my head

To each their own, i suppose.. For me Melancholie takes the edge for having more memorable instrumentation and a much edgier tone that encompasses the feeling of cold despair a lot more accurately than Autumn.

Autumn is very different. I knew from the first half of the first song that while comparing it to Melonchilie is inevitable, it's not really a fair comparison. It's still Coldworld but it's SO different.
I don't think "cold despair" is what he was going for on Autumn at all. More like wandering solitude.

Yeah he definitely wasn't trying to make a Melancholie part 2 that's for sure. That's why I'm so impressed with it, they're both on such opposite ends of the spectrum, but they're also both some of the best modern bm albums around.
And yes I feel comfortable saying that even though Autumn has only been out for a few days. m/

Agreed.
Winter will most likely slay as well, and based on his description will probably FINALLY scratch that Walknut itch XD

True.. I guess what I meant was the overarching theme was expressed a bit better.. and yes, I had expected a tonal shift after he went from winter to 'Autumn'. Don't get me wrong, the changes he made are very well done and I love it... Maybe I just identified a lot more to the theme of Melancholie.

Yeah that makes sense. Like I said, this is a top 10 bm album for me, maybe even top 5 tbh.

^^^I know exactly what you mean here. Certain albums just get you as much as you get them.
