36 Chambers is substantially better than Liquid Swords. LS seriously lacks hooks for such an iconic album. Honestly the only song that truly jams for me is Shadowboxin, which I admit is one of the best songs ever. The rest all just kind of sound the same to me and don;t stand out. BIBLE is good too.

comes down to personal taste, to me hooks are always the worst part of hip-hop and I often just wait for them to end to get to more fun verses

Yeah thats true. I'm not talking about sugary pop hooks. But to me LS is just a monster glut of verses that all run together. Don't bore us, get to the chorus, lol.

I know you don't mean pop hooks, some rappers have an ear for good hooks that make it work but many do not. I enjoy 'monster glut of verses that all run together', an album like Escape From Monsta Island! is just nonstop verses and it's amazing.

A good example is Warning off this album. It doesn't have much of a chorus, jus the "niggas wanna stick me for my paper" line, but the song just has a monster vocal hook running through it. The lyrics are fantastic too.

@ryus it's got some of my favorite rapping ever, members like Rodan are legit impressive at rapping. check out Rodan (2) - Theophany: The Book Of Elevations!! No one else here has heard it and it's so bomb and just filled to the brim with nonstop bars

I just have a really hard time getting behind 90s hip-hop for whatever reason

So far, outside of Kendrick, I’ve been more impressed with 90’s hip-hop than today’s hip-hop. But that’s just me.

I think Wu are pretty overrated for the most part but I think Return To The 36 Chambers is a phenomenal album. Definitely my favorite Wu related project

Bars, flow, beats, storytelling, comedy, variety. Y'know it's only the blueprint to a perfect hip hop album

Not a fan of the skits and there's a couple filler songs, but it's great otherwise
