Unfortunately I didn't discover those bands until way too late, like a few months ago, whereas I've been listening to Opeth since like 2006 when I was only 12 haha

I actually checked when I rated this. It was in April but that's still not that long ago.

Anyone notice that all Opeth albums, even this, have a slight dirtyness? I can't explain exactly what it is,

but the music just doesn't sound as "smooth" as it should, especially during the heavier segments. This is

strictly in terms of production, not the written music itself.

all of their albums sound very well produced and mixed to me (starting with the moor), not sure exactly what you're referring to. If you want to hear something dirty --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0gF0b6pRvg

I love how bass-heavy it is, the remaster is so fucking good.

Like, there are tiny fluctuations in the sound that shouldn't be there. Again, especially during heavier

parts. It isn't as pronounced in this album, but it is still there.

I only here it with Opeth so it isn't my issue. I find it strange no one else has noticed.

Here, try listening to the title track at 1:15 and on. Listen closely to the guitar. It just doesn't sound

as smooth as it should.

I guess i wouldn't notice since I don't listen to them a whole lot. What's your source?

Listen to Blackwater Park at 1:15 and on.

Source is onboard but decent Realtek HD ALC892. Happens in both Spotify and CD rip. Sennheiser HD 201

headphones.

I am reading something about the "clipping" being pretty bad on Damnation. Maybe that is what I'm referring

to, but I'm unsure.

i would say its more of a distortion on the guitar issue than production issues

I can't point out an anomaly, but you've probably listened to it a lot more than I have. And I like my
guitars pretty murky. Ah well, I hope it doesn't take you out of the music too much
