Vinnie Paul is also underrated, elitists hate him just cos he doesn't play at 7000bpm and blast beat the shit out of everything (oh I forgot, 'no blast beats = gay')

^ comments like that make you look like a gigantic twat
people don't like Vinnie Paul because he's really simple

But this type of metal doesn't need complicated. It's hard to groove at 100mph and grooving is what Vinnie does so well.

Back to Phil, Nola has my favourite Phil vocal performance by far. Not really a fan of his post-Cowboys Pantera performances.

You know what those expoits are tellin ya? That heavy music is dead and gone? Well look, y'all do me a favour. Y'all do me a favour. Y'all turn around and look at each other right now. Y'all turn around and look at all these motherfucking people here, and obviously somebody's wanting to hear something that these expoits are telling ya you ain't supposed to be hearing.

JamieT I agree about NOLA, but there isn't a huge margin of difference between any of his performances. He's remarkably consistent while also coming up with new feels for each album and each new band.

He's incredible on Trendkill as well, pure unadulterated passion and rage. I couldnt possibly decide whether Cowboys, NOLA or Trendkill is my favourite performance of his.

Plus those three albums really show how remarkably well he could switch his singing to fit the 'mood' of an album, man was a beast
