Opeth are currently at a more interesting and promising point in their career than they have been at certain points in the past so they certainly shouldn't "hang em up and retire" now.

This being the last mid-era album. Makes sense to me to think of it that way now what with their new album coming out soon (first 3 = early-era, Watershed - Pale Communion = late-era).

I've always though of it as mid-era probably because for me it's similar in quality to BWP and where the band started to go down hill a bit, IMO.
