"Kind wanted something dissonant and heavy again but it's like a direct continuation of this album."

Implying this isn't dissonant and heavy?

Yeah I like when my DM is a little more "clean and approachable" if that makes sense. I like dissonance and all that but I also need a melodic line for a hook-ish delivery to fill out the sound and Ulcerate does that for me over and over again

Same, a lot of disso death I've gotten into has been a grower for me

So, this is the same as that or not? Please speak clearly into the microphone.

I kind of figured but on the other hand it's still wild that this album could be described that way haha

Most of this album is played in a natural minor scale, it's heavy but I wouldn't say it's dissonant.

i really do love how they've taken on a more riff-driven approach as of late, which is one of my favorite parts about EIF

Man I'm pissed. I was the first rating of the new Ulcerate album and the mods wiped it. Damn shame it is.

Im kind of afraid to dedicate an hour plus to an ulcerate album that not everyone is fucking with because this is like the only album ive heard from them so far that doesnt feel like a homework assignment to get through lol

I gotta agree with ShadowRemains - loving the riff-driven approach aswell that continues through the whole record creating a different atmosphere than Stare Into Death imo

As much as I love stare, I am immeasurably excited hearing that this is a bit more riff-driven

I just measured the new album's dynamic range and as I suspected it's their most dynamic album to date. It's marginal but it measured an avg score of 6, with some tracks going up to 7. Kinda good news for those of us who hate brickwalled albums
