The only two songs I actually enjoy on this are These Walls and How Much a Dollar Cost. I just don't get how anyone gets enjoyment from this. There's hardly any hooks or bangers. Its avant garde, arty shit. GKMC is a borderline 5, I will never understand the hype for this. Take away the political overtones/STATEMENT of the album, and judge it purely on how it sounds, and to me its complete shit. To each their own I guess.

What a weird take. Purely by "sounds" this is probably one of the best rap albums ever given the diversity/quality of the production and the variety of rapping styles. It's also weird how you say you want "bangers" but then somehow don't mention King Kunta or Blacker the Berry? I mean, just ignore the political overtones of the song and it sounds just like a banger.

Kendrick is an insufferable sellout that has an awful voice and mediocre abilities, although he sounds like a god compared to your average mumbler. he had hints of promise in his early career but that's about it. his music goes farther into cringe material with each album and that's only going to get worse

I get you're just baiting, but if you read the first part of the sentence I said purely by "sounds". As in all the non-rapping shit

"Its avant garde, arty shit."
Never understood that take. Just because the album has a big jazz and funk influence doesn't make it avantgarde. Maybe you just haven't been in contact with that genre. This album is about as avantgarde as a Steely Dan record lmao. The only track on here that you could label as being artsy is u. The rest is just good music that happens to take influence from jazz and funk

I have no idea how people can listen to tracks like Wesley’s Theory and Alright and think “yeah, these aren’t very good”

I've found that there are 2 types of people that don't like Kendrick.
1) Bitter old heads who label every hip hop album that has come out after 2000 as trash
2) Underground heads that like to bathe in their supposed superiority because they listen to Kool Keith, Cannibal Ox and Aesop Rock
