makes me wonder how many times the low raters have listened to the records tho. Destroyers and EIF are probably the most immediately gratifying albums but this and Shrines get increasingly better on subsequent listens.

New song is my least favorite of the 3, not a fan of key changes in general personally.

Hate to be a downer, but the new track feels pretty soulless and plodding, almost like AI wrote it

lol yes, Jamie Saint Timberlake, he's the one. it's a Samsung conspiracy to cross-promote this with pop.

IDK it seems like Ulcerate are just trying to condense all the technical proficiencies and atonalities and what not into something a little smoother which I'm kinda cool with. Tbh it feels a whole hell of a lot more distinguishable from their other works so I understand the desire to shift.

Yeah, their newest singles show definitely the start of a shift in sound. And it was time! tbh. Stare felt bland and auto-pilot so I guess these guys realized they had tu push the envelope once and for all. I'm all in for the new sound cause the singles are better than anything in here sorry

I honestly cannot for life of me hear any "auto-pilot" you speak of here. Sure, its less unhinged than Shrines, but Paracletus was the same to thing Fas in a way, and I listen to Paracletus 100x more often than Fas. Refinement does not equal autopilot. That's my take. I respect yours because you're not Tundra but damn dude we get it, you're not huge on this one lol

New single made it apparent I'm growing apart from this band. Wish I could get the same joy everyone else does out of it. For whatever reason this sound just doesn't do much for me anymore.

I feel like the new singles are a logical progression for the band (I am fairly new to Ulcerate). It was imminent that the band was going to incorporate more earworms in their sound since the best part of their songwriting seems to be when they are working in that mindset. Stare Into Death is a perfect example of being claustrophobic as hell but some of the riffing in it is the catchiest thing I've heard
