lol, I’ve always read it as the non-hyphenated meaning

Speaking of stool I had White Castle last weekend for the first time in a while and had straight-up butt pee the entire following day.

yeah, much as there are tracks on HTTT that i like less than Burn the Witch, at least most of them have an angle
apart from Scatterbrain. that one's just a snooze
wow oops think i opened this tab earlier and forgot to refresh before replying yeouch

Myxomatosis is my least fav on HTTT and is a great example of what I mean when I say that at least the worst songs on there are *interesting* by comparison
Like that song fucking sucks
But they really undeniably tried to do a thing…

also A Wolf at the Door is their most overrated song tbh

Aw, I like Myxomatosis
Worst is easily We Suck Young Blood...like who is that song even for, weird indie goths who like jazz piano who aren't even interested in Radiohead?

WHOA Punchup is great, like top 3 great
|

I like we suck young blood. I think everyone will agree that httt is disjointed but it certainly isn’t lacking in the ideas department as evidenced by no one being able to agree one which songs are the worst which is pretty interesting tbqh

Love punch up, wolf at the door is deffs low tier for me as well

We Suck Young Blood - genuinely love it
Punchup - eww
Myxomatosis - s'kay
Wolf at the Door - s'kay
@Johnny Scatterbrain is the good kind of snooze IMO. I'd put songs like House of Cards and Desert Island Disk in that same category

Lets not let 'Backdrifts' and 'I Will' go unscathed, either. Those songs are easily as crap/mediocre as 'Myxomatosis'.
My sleeper pick is 'Go to Sleep'.
You could turn HAIL TO THE THIEF into a legitimately great album if you swap out some of those lukewarm tracks with a few of the stunners from the "bonus" album i.e., 'Paperbag Writer', 'Gagging Order', and 'I Am a Wicked Child'.
|
| |
Backdrifts is literally in my top 5 on HTTT lol. I like I Will too.
Like I said, it’s impossible to get a consensus on HTTT, so you’d be equally hard pressed to edit the album down into something everyone would enjoy back to front.

Backdrifts is awesome yeah
I Will is meh

@tectactoe though I can live without hearing I Will ever again, there will be no dragging Backdrifts in this thread thank you very much. Fucken love that song. In my top 3 tracks here, and top 30 RH songs ever
|
| |
Yeah prob in my top 3 too. First four tracks of the alb is pretty much all of my favs
|
| |
I did not realize how many closet Backdrifts fans we had here. I'll admit it's probably the best among those tracks I listed but if I were tasked with whittling the album down to a tighter and more manageable 10 or 11 tracks, it'd be on the chopping block for sure. (Personally, of course.)
Actually this sounds like a fun exercise. Here's how (I think) my ideal 11-track HAIL TO THE THIEF album would look:
1. 2+2=5
2. Sit Down, Stand Up
3. Sail to the Moon
4. Go to Sleep
5. Paperbag Writer
6. We Suck Young Blood
7. There There
8. Gagging Order
9. Scatterbrain
10. I Am a Wicked Child
11. Where I End and You Begin
