"i wasn't that impressed with the drumming" - neither was I for a long time listening to this, it sounded too cacophonous and all over the place (although ofc you could say that's an issue with the whole album, especially on first/early listens). But the more I listen I realise his attention to detail is absolutely astounding and just incomparable to most other drum performances I've heard. No two beats or fills are the same throughout - even down to things like the bass drum patterns. Then there's a number of powerful and intense moments he really contributes to (1:00 - 1:12 of Crowquill for example - that passage is made by that fill. Also the beat afterwards is fantastic.)

It's definitely not bad drumming. I need to give this some more listens anyway. I was tripping on speed and it freaked me out but in a cool way. I try my best not to do speed anymore though.
