Also this has arguably the 3 greatest Radiohead songs: Nude, Weird Fishes and Jigsaw

House of Cards isn't the best here but it is still like an 8/10 imo. But yeah, those 3 songs are great and especially agree with Jigsaw. Also absolutely love All I Need and Reckoner.

Bodysnatchers and Faust Arp are prob my least favorite on here but they're not bad

I think that Bodysnatchers has an amazing last 30 seconds but it isn't the song I always come back to, on this album at least. Faust Arp is an amazing interlude but I never listen to it unless I am listening to the full album. It is great with the album but not on its own.

Yeah it's cool, always enjoy when these guys do a conventional rock song

Bodysnatchers never really wowed me (tho I've always love the bridge section) until I saw it live and ended up a highlight of probably the best concert I've ever or will ever experience, which is saying something. It sounded like the best song Queens of the Stone Age never released. Also just found out they only played live like 3 more times since I saw them in 2018.

Golly gee do I like this album a whole bunch

Bodysnatchers is definitely the worst here by a pretty emphatic margin
prolly no surprise at this point I'd think that, to be fair

House of Cards drags it down a little too
although perhaps a fresh perspective is needed after all this time, still remember loving this and 'The Smile' has me yearning for the good ol' days of Thom & co

Bodysnatchers > House of Cards by a respectable amount imo, but they are collectively the "worst" IN RAINBOWS has to offer. No such problems with Faust Arp, I think that makes a lovely transition from All I Need into Reckoner.

I used to not like bodysnatchers much, but the soft part back into the hard part kicks ass. Great song

Bodysnatchers rules [2]
It is an oddball on this album with its dirty(ish) rock sound, but it stood out for me immediately upon first listen. I love how crazy it gets towards the end, quite similar to what they did on "2 + 2 = 5" imo.

I can't decide if I should be surprised or not that this has emerged as the highest rated Radiohead album on RYM.

With any other band it’s not surprising that the chilled out “at peace” style art rock record is their highest rated, because even with pop stars you’ve got hits in Madonna and Sade, etc. but I’m a bit surprised, figure OKC longevity still wins out

On one hand I agree with the general sentiment, on the other hand the element of my surprise lies mostly with the timeline through which IN RAINBOWS usurped the throne. It was comfortably the third-highest Radiohead album for well over a decade and them some. In its early days I remember a score in the neighborhood of ~4.07 compared to OKC and KID A's 4.20-somethings. It slowly crept up over time (again I remember something like 4.11 at some point, not terribly long ago) but seems like at some point within the last 2 (?) years (ballparking a bit there) it absolutely skyrocketed and is now at 4.31 (!). Exponential growth of this sort is usually indicative of some watershed event, it simply isn't natural. Makes me wonder if it had anything to do with that looming period before TPAB took the #1 All Time spot when everyone knew it was going to happen but didn't know exactly when.

It's always been their best album, just took a long time for the kid a/okc stans to dwindle down

seems like the zoomers that have infiltrated rym are a fan of this one over ok computer/kid a
what that means or why that would be i couldnt tell you, but theres been a pretty noticeable shift in the rym userbase over the past few years
