A part of me just died inside, and I'm going to have to avenge it with your blood.

Just because you're too stupid to understand what a genre is other than the misinformation VH1 and MTV feed you and because you're too damn lazy to do an ounce of real research is no guarantee that when you say something horrifyingly ignorant that you're going to be immune from a verbal raping.

On this site, with all the resources literally at your fingertips, you still choose to be a moron. That is so sad.

Considering you clearly don't even know what it is, I'd say it's bad. Name three emo bands without the aid of looking it up in the site's emo section.

Hawthorne Hights, My Chemical Romance, Circle Takes The Square.

You got one right, which is better than I expected. Before you're allowed to use the term emo ever again, you have to listen to a sampling of Rites of Spring, Moss Icon, Hot Cross, City of the Caterpillar, and Indian Summer.

MCR and Hawthorne Heights are pop-punk. As a matter of fact, MCR once said in an interview that they have nothing in common with real emo and have no idea why their fans label them as emo. Pop-punk =/= emo. Very cut and dried.

And anybody who slags off an entire genre is stupid. No two ways about it.

Dave Mustaine isn't completely innocent either, seeing as he fired Nick Menza while he was sitting in a hospital bed. This Message Edited On 01.25.07

No, Dave isn't a model citizen either. But I'd still rather sit in his prayer circle than go to an art gallery with Lars.

I've always believed the company you keep is more important than what you're actually doing. As obnoxious as born again Christians are, at least I could restrain myself from punching out Dave Mustaine. With Lars, I can't make any promises.

I don't like both of them

I do think Dave's a dick and he really needs to see a therapist and start heavily medicating himself, but I dislike him a lot less than I do Lars. If nothing else, Dave can at least play his chosen instrument.

I dont think Dave is a dick anymore, but he used to be though. I agree that Lars sucks.

I don't think Lars is really arrogant as much as he as a bloated sense of importence. I think I just defined arrogance, but I kind of see the two in different lights.

At least Dave is good at what he does.

Considering Matt Heafy's metallica immitation and the about the same arrogance level... yes it does.

Metal was hardly an anti-trend. If anything it was just a heavier evolution of the trend towards hard rock and in its own right a trend in and of itself. I mean, for crisakes, both punk and grunge made a point early on of protesting the metal trends during their time.
Otherwise, Trivium sucks. Anthem is a decent song I think, but far from even good.

Metal is a genre on itself. There are way too many subgenres for metal to call it a branch of rock. Of course, it was made out of that genre, but then again, rock branched out of blues (I think). Metal is just a fully genre on it's own.

I thought some songs were good, if you never heard old trivium or any metallica before. I liked the song to the rats, and thought unrepentant and eotc were ok. Still, poor album.

Meh, I just listen to the music regardless of what band, influence or anything other it is/has.

Some songs such as To the Rats or Detonation are decent, but nothing really sticks out. Plus the Crusade is a Dream Theater song gone horribly wrong, and Dream Theater wasn't that good from the start...

this would just sound that much better if I didn't hear earlier material or Metallica because you can't really compare this to those.
I agree. It seems the only reason people are lashing out at this is because of James Hetfield's voice similarity.
