> I thought they were going to jump into the chorus for Headstrong first time I heard Trout

I was thinking Godsmack ha

Having sudden flashbacks to being 15 in 2003, listening to Trapt on Scuzz. Now I'm thinking about how many people listening to this album were born in 2003. Agh.

Okay I've worked out what this album reminds me of. If you take away the mathcore bits and all the little detours into nu-metal, it sounds like Lower Definition:

These kids are definitely taking me down a nostalgia rabbit hole, fair play.

yano? i like the bjork part, especially adding the heavy YOUs in there. and i just love the reference in a vacuum. my main thing? i feel like instead of that, that was the perfect time to put some sort of big catchy melodic part there. i like the ones before a lot but i feel like they couldve added something more full feeling there??? idk

song is still insane

The Lower Definition mention in here reminded me that we still have yet to get that album they've been working on and might not ever get it smh

For real. Talk About It came up in my playlist earlier and I immediately got depressed that we still don't have an album of bangers like that.

Still hoping for those guys to come back someday

“The last modern mathcore band that did anything for me was seizures I think, most of it is just too hot topic adjacent”

yeah, great band. This has something tho, the “parody” or meme-worthy moments (zak) are done in a knowing (enough) manner. They’re in on the joke. I don’t get the sense they take themselves at all seriously. Whether this cocktail of disparate ingredients is one’s personal tipple is another matter entirely mind

I’ve been away so haven’t had the chance to re-listen but am currently in respectful agreement that this is ‘GOOD’, without being head-over-heels for all that it offers

I live near Lynchburg and have been adjacent to “Christian Metalcore made by backwards mountain people” my entire adult life. This band gives me such strong vibes of that, and I’ll never be able to get past it. It just is what it is
