Pretty dope. It’s a chat pile song for sure, nothing too new or crazy. I’d be perfectly happy with 10 songs like that but hopefully there are some interesting or unique tidbits in this one

While widely different and other genres infused, there's a lot of Nirvana's energy on the new song (or some other in that regard). Any fan of both bands can feel that.

New single is good but I just am not sure these guys will make anything I like as much as God’s Country again. Tbh they just set themselves up for failure by making a debut that fire lol

This one does rip, but God's Country is a hard 5 for me.

Is this supposed to be a tribute to the classic 1992 masterpiece Cool World, starring one Gabriel Byrne??

Nah cool world is an awful movie, I was only kiiiiding.
I’ve actually listened to each of their albums and liked both, but only one listen each. Don’t recall why, prob just got busy or some other music distracted. I’ll get back on it though. Def love their sound.

Cool World is my favorite Chat Pile album, and there's definitely a lot of similarity with (early) Nirvana, see also their excellent Sifting cover. But I don't find the new song particularly exciting. It's just good, but doesn't take any interesting turns.

I have no issue with one digging God's Country over Cool World. Yet we have to agree they stepped up the game here on being catchier and hookier with this one. Their audience got wider as hell because of that, without loosing steam or heaviness (au contraire). So, saying they just set themselves up for failure is a total miscall, imo.
