I still haven’t listened to this and I am not in the position at this time. Can someone please inform me how many “steppers” are on this album? It’s a time sensitive question.

MillionDead, since there are OBVIOUSLY BETTER produced albums than this one, give me some non-Kendrick albums that are, and more importantly beats that sound this good

Flashmoba, disagree, this is as well produced as any Kenny album

I'm just saying, with one broad statement, you said the production on this beats the last 23 year of hip hop? Absolutely not. TPAB kills this. And tbh there are tons of tracks on Good Kidd that beat this too. This honestly feels like K Dot coasting, sonically. Some beats here feel generic even. I won't deny that he's obviously sorting through serious emotions on this but like there are tons of albums that beat this in terms of production from the last 20 years. I'm sorting through my ratings and finding you at least 10.

JPEG Mafia and Danny Brown - Scaring the Hoes

Westside Gunn - Flygod

JID - The Forever Story

Billy Woods - Aethiopes

Benny the Butcher - Tana Talk 4

Lil Ugly Mane - Mista Thug Isolation

Godfather Don - Beats, Bangers and Biscuits...

Basically any Alchemist collab in the last 4 years but Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist - Alfredo specifically

Armand Hammer - Paraffin

Brockhampton - Saturation I - III

Quasimoto - The Unseen

A Tribe Called Quest - We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition

ScHoolboy Q - Blank Face LP

This grew on me over time, but no Kendrick album has ever matched the Good Kid/TPAB one-two punch imo

Baby Keem's whole blow up is thanks to being K-Dot's cousin. Completely undeniable.

I'm a big Kendrick fan gkmc and tpab are both easy 5's but this album sucks. If this was made by any other hip hop artist it wouldn't get a second spin by most. It's a dime a dozen new school rap album

It sounds like an older artist working hard to emulate new trends, which is exactly what it is. He doesn't neatly fit into the mold at all. I'll never get over him basically leaving all the TPaB sounds behind. Like he could have made a whole discog of variations on shit like that and it would never have gotten old.
