i’m just saying sometimes you can achieve more by doing less and if that’s what deafheaven has done here then honestly kudos to them but I haven’t read any of this review or these comments or ehard any of the album so idk

i accidentally took way too much of an edible about 3 hours ago so i don’t really know but i do know that the removal or mitigation of metal elements from a shoegaze band can never be a bad thing

Let's wait that edible vanishes my man, deep breath, lie down, take it easy, everything's gonna be peachy.

"a band took shoegaze and inexplicably mixed it with metal"

inexplicably? shoegaze mixed with metal was a thing throughout the whole 00s and can even be traced back to albums like Discouraged Ones from Katatonia in the late 90s. Deafheaven was obviously completely indebted stylistically to Alcest, y'all act like Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde wasn't a thing at all.

try Greet Death - New Hell, it's the best shoegaze album since Candy Claws' Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time
