Sam's Town, Imploding the Mirage, and Pressure Machine work really well as their holy trinity of Americana.
Hot Fuss is kinda its own thing, still excellent and easily their most famous. Day & Age is heavily hit or miss. The rest of their discog isn't really worth hearing tbh.

But when she turns, it's like the shadow of the cross don't cast
No blessin' over our lonely life
It's like waiting for a train to pass

Imploding was great. Not sure why I skipped it back in the day. Gunna listen for another couple weeks

I think it was overlooked by many because it was sandwiched between the tail end of a string of forgettable albums and Pressure Machine, which could be argued as the best of their career. It was definitely the start of their rebirth and ascent, which led to this album.

Imploding The Mirage is wildly inconsistent to me - some fantastic songs, some good-to-great material, and some pretty weak tunes - but in hindsight it definitely did hint that their next album would be awesome.

New single, it sounds majestic but lyrics are flat in my opinion.

It's nice. Better than their bad stuff but not nearly as good as anything from here, or Imploding The Mirage, in my opinion. Feels a little too glitzy and substanceless.

Their latest single is quite fun, agreed with the comments above

It's amazing how good this is. Even after the shock wears off it still stands as their best release.
Coming after their best release before that, that's very impressive.

They should live in this lane sound wise. Suits them so well

Still not sold on Imploding The Mirage, Dying Breed is the only cut I love off that one. I'll take Day & Age and even Battle Born over ITM.

Bright Lights sounds like a Gaslight Anthem song. I love it.

When will I make it home?
When that jukebox in the corner
Stops playing country songs
With stories that sound like mine

Bible Study, we were buddy-buddy
Then you said that we should fornicate (like, yeah!)
In my gross Ugg boots, in your scene king suit
Let your white studded belt hit the ground

In the Car Outside is such a great song
I always forget about it when I haven't listened to the album in a while, then it hits me like a train
