when I think of the artists I'd credit with a 'genius' factor off the top of my head, most of them have dropped some serious bullshit at one point or another

Trying to figure out if I dislike this album or dislike the entire genre

Sounds like any of us can be genius artists we just have to make sure the first album or two aren’t the turds.

"JS has one of the most successful make-up companies, while all you have are terrible opinions and shitty anime avatars."
I'd rather be guilty of having "terrible opinions" (which really aren't) than of groping people on camera, among other things JS has done.

Unless your comment was in jest venin lol" yeah it was in jest, but I do remember when Spirit called Jon Mess a genius

This album to me feels like three great songs right from the beginning and then taking a massive nosedive into mediocrity with only a few exceptions. They've done some really lazy songwriting on this.

Prisoner is the only great track on this whole album unfortunately

Nah there's a couple moments where this pulls back up. Three Wishes, Parody Catharsis and Born to Fail are all pretty solid. But the way this album closes is just super disappointing. Parallels and beyond is the true total nose dive.
