Voices is the only track here I like lol, but even then, the chorus is still awkward. Foregone is a lot better than this and it still isn't all that great

foregone feels a little like it's created specifically to check all the boxes to win back old fans, so it makes sense that it's received better
it's a good album but the halo effect kinda clears it

As much as I wanted to love the halo effect, I just thought the album was decent. I did get to drum tech for them for prog power though so that was cool

"My man im talking a radio hit that is unavoidable. Radio rock station. The general public doesn’t listen to Octane ya dig?"
Yup. Come Clarity played on regular radio constantly lol.

As well as mtv video charts every day for months as previously alluded to. Come Clarity was a smash mainstream hit song and In Flames also had guitar hero songs at the height of guitar hero popularity, arguably just as mainstream as radio in the mid 2000s or even moreso. Facts are they transcended metal and did indeed become popular and mainstream with hits including a "radio" hit.

Yeah, that seems to always happen Carl. It happened to one of the local post-grunge buttrock stations years ago, as if we already don't have enough Christian radio shows around here (that's living in the south for ya). Though I can't really say I've heard much metal on the radio aside from the typical Metallica, Maiden and Priest stuff. We do have this sorta cool two-hour metal show called the Grindhouse on one of the few alternative/post-grunge stations left. Haven't heard it in a long time, though.

Conventional rock radio in my experience is stuck in the old days, playing hits that everybody has heard a thousand times or new releases by the same handful of established artists. Have to go digging to find solid metal/rock stations. Colleges usually have one or two.
