i just think everything is more consistent on hell on earth. they basically took everything they did right here and made it slightly better imo.

its also got this kind of bitterness and regret to it that is more engaging to me than the youthful aggression of the infamous. most of the lyrics are about how much it fucking sucks to grow up the way they did and how they cant wait to leave it behind forever, which is super interesting to me.

"i aint your average cat, fuck rap, im tryina make cream and that's that"

Same, I've got it 4.5'd but I've probably only listened to it all way through twice or so. Need to revisit soon.

I've spent way more time with this than Hell on Earth but so far, I'm feeling like this blows it out of the water... so far, the only track on there that has really stood out to me that I go back to is "Can't Get Enough of It" while on this, I really dig most of the tracks and the overall sound/tone

man I still remember the first time I heard Shook Ones Part II. I was like 14/15, it was like 3 in the morning on a weekend and I was just listening to the local hip hop station on the radio, where there was this program that did deep dives into certain artists' careers

mind you, the only thing I knew about Mobb Deep was that they were in G-Unit at the time and they were dissed by 2pac who I was super into at the time. man when that beat hit, I was mesmerized. never heard anything sound so bleak and sinister. the room being pitch black also didn't help lol. still a top 10 track for me

also I agree with Hype, Hell On Earth captures that atmosphere more cohesively, and I'm always flipping back and forth over which one I like more. both hard 5's
