I don't think you can call any of their albums mediocre

Fuck, this album has so many epic moments. I'm in awe of the second half of Flee, Thou Matadors and Michael, Row Your Boat Ashore in its entirety. Incredible tension and dynamics on this album.

“people like B,S because it was their first mwY album and there's sentimentality for what is obviously their most mediocre album“

I agree that there's sentimentality and that it could slightly elevate the album's collective perception, but in no way is it mediocre

Winter Solstice is so fucking great. Loved that melody off the alternative version, glad it comes back even bigger.

It's pretty amazing how much Aaron's singing voice has improved on this, the EP too.

He sounds more confident than ever. Winter Solstice is probably the best example, he owns that chorus.

I haven’t known about mwY for an extremely long time so they’re not really seen as nostalgic for me. I think I discovered them in like 2012. I think this and Brother, Sister are about as good as each other, but just in vastly different ways

agreed about aaron’s singing, especially on Solstice. I hear a ton of little nuances in his phrasing and stuff

His annunciation has gotten better with each album, though I think it was probably best in Pale Horses. He just seemlessly glides over things at times and I love it.

Five 5's on one page. The 4.5 average remained after breaking 100 ratings. :]
