Haha yea, exactly. When I first heard Marrow I thought it was entirely in Japanese. Needless to say, I was monumentally confused when I looked up the lyrics

@Samwise Really? I could definitely make out some hilariously awful English and flurries of mispronounced fucks. Granted I'd already heard Sarcofago so I was used to that sort of thing.
Difference is Sarcofago actually had some thrashing riffs behind those atrocious lyrics. Not so true for TMOAB. Mostly chugs if I remember correctly.
@Calc Their managers were totally delusional, then. Reminds me of when record labels signed Morbid Angel and other DM bands in the 1990s and then dropped them when they didn't go platinum.

As comically bad Marrow is lyrically sans the songs that are mostly Japanese, it's grown on me through the years and now I regard it as a pretty good album FWIW. Yeah, it's mostly chugs and variations of Drop C# riffage Irony, but at least it gets the job done for me lol. Definitely translates better live than in the studio and these days I prefer listening to Mode of Marrow if I want a fix on that material.

Marrow is just pure anger and rage, really great listen for me on days when im not feeling in the best of moods

"Marrow is just pure anger and rage..." [2].
with tints of hopelessness mixed throughout it. Definitely DEG's bleakest album to date.

A very, very short teaser of the single there.

from the 2 1/2 minute clip i've listened to, it sounds very promising. however, though I can't judge the sound until the final thing comes out, the drums still sound like ass

Ah yeah, it seems it'll continue having the iffy production (unsurprising, given that the same persons from TIW worked on it).

Yeah, the 2 1/2 minute clip sounds definitely promising. If the song itself is really good I consider that a victory since their production from their first single from a future album always massively differs from the next album.

in any case, this single is sounding infinitely more exciting than anything on this. i hope it pays off (i think it will).

If they keep this producer on past the next album, I'll be convinced the band has collective tinnitus that's only mitigated by poking their heads into the dryer where all the missing socks go.

The drums still dont sound too amazing, but im very excited to hear the full track- they've always excelled when doing longer tracks

@Samwise Vinushka and Macabre 2013 are some of their best songs so I'd generally agree. Hopefully it's not a 10 minute chugfest, but I think they're better than that.

New single premiering in half an hour.

It's just for the first two minutes my dude. Also after the shit this album put us through, it felt refreshing to hear that build and genuine tension in those first two minutes. I cracked a smile hearing that groove come in. If they don't ruin it with shitty d beat riff slogs at the peak then it can be an awesome song.
