curious how you'll feel about war of being then bc these guys max out around a 3.5 for me bar that album which is imo pretty damn incredible lol. leaps and bounds ahead of their other stuff for me

I hardly think of this album after the new one. It just beats it in every way. King Smile and Juno are god-tier though.

That song has cool parts but much about it just feels wrong to me. The prechorus is a few bars too long, Dan reaches a bit too high in the chorus and it's so short I end up not caring about any of it and regularly skip it.

i kinda think the brevity works in its favor. doesnt overstay its welcome the way some of the other stuff here does
i also think its first verse is the strongest vocal pattern on the entire lp which is a little frustrating since its like in the first 30 seconds of the whole album but w/e

And see that one to me has big "look what I can do" energy, but I'm glad you and others enjoy it. To me the Juno verse is the best.
I'm still a bit salty on the length of this, but they fully redeemed themselves on the next one.
