I feel like if this was a new band, and not TWY, I'd be gushing about it constantly

but the bar was set so high with Suburbia/TGG

I cannot make up my damned mind on this. Above a 4 again it goes.

Some days the lyrics just hit harder.

This is probably my least favorite of theirs other than Get Stoked

This is the only album of theirs I've heard in full but the rest of their releases - at a glimpse - didn't sound nearly as grown up and just felt like generic pop punk. Even TGG. I didn't feel compelled to backtrack on their discography.

Damn Sowing TGG is where they sounded most grown up to me. When they went more towards alternative rock for their last two albums, idk why, but they just stopped completely connecting with me. This and No Closer to Heaven are great albums, but the just don’t feel like The Wonder Years to me anymore. I’d chose Suburbia and TGG over their last two any day of the week. Maybe I just need to give them both more chances. I’ve listened to suburbia and TGG at least 50 times and I’ve only listened to the last two 3-4 times because they just weren’t clicking. I will have to spin them again soon.

Sowing have you listened to the song The Devil in My Bloodstream off of TGG? I just am surprised someone that actually appreciates some pop punk would find their older offerings generic.

To clarify, I haven't listened to any of their old albums. Just a song here or there.

No, I understood that. I was just curious if you had heard that one particular song. I think you might like it if not.

The first half of TGG is an 11/10 but the second half kinda basically sucks besides the closer, album is massively overrated in their discog
