I need to run a 'is it still a 4.5 test' now the dust has settled on my initial binge. It's weird that I'm not clamouring for a second visit considering how much I enjoyed this initially.

| |
Ah shit, I hate doing those tests. It's reallyyyyyy disappointing when it turns out the album isn't a 4.5 anymore. I almost feel bad. They gotta be done though.

It's virtually always a 4.0, maybe this is some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy? Then again if I did a 'is it a 5 yet' test, then my expectations would be higher. Catch 22.
|
| |
True, it's hard to go into the test without any bias. I tend to do the same tests with my 2.5s, 3s, and 3.5s too to see if they have changed. If they drop enough I'll probably delete the album.

"bloc only rates on RYM because he's a dirty traitor" LOOL

Haha I did that for 7 years on this site already. But yeah, I moved them all to RYM a few years ago.

"Haha I did that for 7 years on this site already. But yeah, I moved them all to RYM a few years ago."
any specific reason why?
|
| |
I was just getting really lazy adding albums to the database all the time for me to rate. I started to notice that RYM had pretty much every album I could think of, so I slowly started to move my ratings over there, and then asked the mods to delete my ratings here once I finished the move.
|
| |
I only rate on RYM as well, the charts there are far more worthwhile than those here.

@bloc: Did you listen to loads of very obscure music, or was the Sput database really that awful in the old days? It's happened a few times to me, not often at all though.
|
| |
Every list of new electronic music I make requires me to add 75% of them to the database. It’s definitely a chore.

Haha, I could say it was all obscure, but that doesn't mean it was "cool and underground" music like one would assume. It was music that was simply not popular lol.
Agreed about the electronic genre though, had a to add lotsssss of it to the db here.

agree on the electronic genre to. This is more for alternative music in general, indie, indiepop rock, and metal i guess.

Music falling under the electronic umbrella must be grossly under-represented here, which is a complaint I've heard before. I wouldn't know myself, not exactly a connoisseur although it is something I'm interested in.
I guess if it's so bad people are 'jumping ship' re the rating system then a lot of this stuff will simply never be added, which is a shame. The site needs the most knowledgeable people to contribute.
|
| |
Haha thankfully it's nowhere near a jumping ship scenario yet, I could never imagine that. I have no idea what people would talk about with each other if they didn't rate anything.

this is a very light 4.5, like a 4.3, but still worthy of the 4.5.
