Well, what can I say... No. Just no. St. Anger is the only song I can listen to and actually say it's DECENT! The rest are pure crap. LONG, WEARY and almost no solo's. What the hell? This Message Edited On 06.08.07

I actually like this album. I use to enjoy it a lot more, but four years later (or three) after its initial release, I could only now listen to St, Anger, Invisble Kid and The Unnamed Feeling. Everything else does get a bit rehashed. I once really did like it to the extreme of actually rating it a four, now I think that would be a 3 since I could only actually listen to three out of the 10, 12, most of the time. Sometimes I could actually listen to all the album (except Sweet Amber) and still enjoy it, but that comes in rare doses.

I find that the songs people like with this album vary. You say you dont like Sweet Amber, while I think its one of the best on the album. I hate Some Kind of Monster, but I find people that love it. You cant really pinpoint a song (except for maybe St. Anger) that everyone can agree is half-decent, this is one of those albums that everyone likes a different song.

Im thinking about bumping this to a 3. Ive come to really enjoy some of the vocal melodies and riffs

^ Seems like a lot of people like Invisible Kid. Maybe The Unnamed Feeling also.

I've never listen to this so I can't judge, but given how bad everyone says this is how is it posible that it has 24 classic votes?

St. Anger is probably the most mediocre album I've ever heard.

It isn't that bad. Some of the riffs are cool. It's just because of the terrible production that it has been rendered ultra-crap.

hahahahaha. And Mike, a 1 is pretty low for a mediocre album. Id say theres just as many great parts to this album as there are awful, justifying my 2.5 rating. The only thing is that people tend to ignore the great parts, James' vocals really catch me in some melodies and there are a lot of really awesome riffs.

Agreed. He may be pushing his voice too far at times, but he certainly has some good hooklines in songs like in St. Anger, where all the 'you's from the repeated lyric "Madly in Anger with You" are sung different; Nice detail.

And i also like certain parts of The Unnamed Feeling. The chorus is one of the best on the album although it's far from heavy. Gets even better before and after the only flaw in the song, the bridge.

this album is crap! one of the worst ever made. The production sound is horrible. Where do I begin...the drums sound like lars switched them out for trash cans, the guitar work is bland and without ANY memorable solos if any, and James' voice sounds like he lost it in rehab. Just an awful cd with no merits whatsoever.

It's Not Metallica At Their Worst , But It's Hetfield At His Worst.

Simply The Lyrics Are Terrible.

Recently when I See Hetfield In Concerts , I Just wanna Cry ,

Cause I Don't Know Where His Voice Has Gone.

Where Is The Thrash Frontman Of All Time.

But At Least This Album Is A Metal Music album And It's not Blues (Like load & Reload)

I Agree that i Exaggerated A Little Bit.But The Problem Is Exactly Here.Metallica was A TRhrash Metal Band And to Me Songs Like "Mama Said" &"Low Man's Lyric" In Comparison To "Disposable Heroes" & " Escape" Have Nothing To Offer .

It's Like Camparing "Mastodon" With " B.B. King"(Altough I Respect B.B. King)

Total crap! I didn't even buy it. I plat guitar and learned half my chops from Metallica. Whats with the snare drum? I can't believe they even settled for this half assed orchestrated garble. Kirk Hammet is Dave Mustane's B###h.
