I think the big orchestral parts work for sappy fuckers like me who are pretty bummed to see these guys go but if you're coming into it hoping against hope to be impressed by them having lost faith I can totally get the whole 'what the fresh hell is this?' thing.

Potsy verdict: title track could have been an amazing outro and end to their career but instead they made it super underwhelming

the three song block from Low Feel to Honeysuckle is great

yeah I literally only liked Low Feel, Surrogate, Honeysuckle, and the bombastic electronic shit in the title track after and before the shitty orchestral bits come in

It's the simplest track here, but not the worst.

That award goes to "Fugue". Completely out of place and unnecessary.

this whole album seems like them trying to go over their entire discography again and it works better when they emulate some stuff better than others. Fugue and title track have Ire Works emulation but they butcher it hard. I think the songs that work best are the ones that emulate Miss Machine the most.

I think this band hasn't been the same since Pennie left. And although he might not have any writing credits on Ire Works, he probably had input on it.

just another one of those bands that continues to try to capitalize on the sound of their own legacy long after the most important and fundamental members are long gone
