It’s gonna be interesting if that song gets mainstream play. I kinda love the balls of it (or lack thereof)

It'll certainly get airtime. Not sure what's so controversial about it tbh...who cares if she implies god's a woman and why would it change your mind if you think he's a white male carpenter? Anyone who is offended by this is probably just looking for something to bitch about.

It's not an assumption when she's obviously calling herself God lol

The arrogance on giaw is par for the course at this point it's no big deal, every hip-hop song is just as self-centered but at least this track isn't braggadocious about material items. Most people will take it for what it is as a pop song and enjoy it, only an idiot would take anything Grande says about god seriously. It's not an offensive song just a kinda stupid one. The guitar is nice though I like that, the production for the song is not bad overall. The final shot of the video makes me laugh though.

I just think it's cool that it sounds like a Pharrell/Neptunes song with Ariana Grande over it. Quirky

I really, really like The Light Is Coming, like, holy shit, the beat is absolutely incredible, and one of Pharrell's best productions period, but I also think Katherine St. Asaph is spot-on here: http://www.thesinglesjukebox.com/?p=25882 (full disclosure: I'm on this site too)

I find the sample in the light annoying, it ruins the song since it never stops. I don't like Pharrell but the song is still not terrible because her singing is infectious enough.

The melody of GIAW is pretty similar to side to side

if you know conservative Christians they get worked up about gender roles n shit in the faith so it’s a still a nice little fuck you to that backwards thought process. It’s like intentionally triggering to nutjobs
