I found remasters of some kind for all their albums made after GUP except for S&A and CA. They definitely make HYF, Preso, and RtB better.
Vapor Trails remix is also much better than the original, the band remixed it only a few years after the original which is pretty unheard of, so they realized it pretty quickly.

nah mostly all the rush remasters are compressed to shit, even if they do add a bit of low end EQ, not worth it
and i like a lot about the vapor remix but i hate the fucking clicky death metal kick drum
and titan depends how loud you crank it really, theres less distortion for sure

It doesn't bother me much, and I'd rather have clarity and good low end if the option is available.

Many of rush's earlier albums sound a bit muddy don't you think?

Check the (unofficial) unmastered version of Vapor Trails dudes. The official remix is kinda meh, sounds too fat.
@Talons: check the recent vinyl remaster of S&A, and maybe do it for Counterparts and TfE too while you're at it

Those 3 albums didn't need a remaster

"Those 3 albums didn't need a remaster"
Nah man they def did, Rush albums should always set the example in my mind.
"I heard that S&A had a great vinyl remaster, but records are usually so expensive. That one might be worth it though, unless it's like $35+"
Eh that's the problem with the recent remaster series, the latter part of the discography costs way too much. Just go hunting on rutracker or something, there are already enough people willing to unzip the wallet for that stuff...
like me
goddamn did I went pale when I pre-ordered S&A from my beloved local store and the dude told me the price. Rest assured I did everything I could to buy TfE and Counterparts with cheaper meanings (and I succeeded, thank the lord)

No they definitely did not. The production of those 3 albums have been praised by the likes of the nerdy Rush community. It's like switching to Geico, everybody knows that. And besides, we're talking remasters here, very few of which are worthwhile.

That fella on the front cover is such a typical Rush fan. Looks like a total dillow.

The only albums that need or needed a remaster are Test For Echo and Vapor Trails. Everything else is just fine.

Point is, these ones are. Those three albums have a great sound but suffered from compression. It's cool to have the option to buy these remasters that make them quieter. Nobody said that we should burn the originals and convert to the 40th anniversary series. It's just that, a cool optional

I always liked PW's production better than most other rush records. It's so punchy and clear. AFWTK, Hemispheres, Signals and Permanent Waves are mixed too low. Grace Under Pressure prob got my fav production.
