This album is a lot more fun to listen to individually.
Sunbather works better from start to finish.

sunblabber is a nice flowing piece and has good transitions and makes sense all the way through this is amateurish bm in like the bad way not in the good "oops we gave it too much treble and you can't play for sht w8 nvm that actually sounds cool". ;)

Fair enough, everyone has an opinion and all. I just don't see how anyone could listen to both and say Bermuda is better. Not that you like it, but that it is better than Sunbather.

I worked out why this sucks so bad. They bought into their own hype. What made Sunbather so special wasn't the genre-mashing or the lyrics, it was just the evident emotion behind it all that made it just feel bloody powerful.
This one feels like they went 'hey what made us so popular before? Well pitchfork said we made this new genre lets throw more in there and it'll be EVEN BETTER' except they completely lost the emotion behind it all until it felt like the band wasn't an outlet for anything bigger, and the gimmicky genre-mashing stuff just sorta overtook the real reason they were making music.

they also moved away from shoegaze because they were bothered by all the other bands they'd influenced who basically were doing the same things. Changing your style just because you're not the unique snowflake in blackgaze anymore seems kinda silly, but I understand their feelings.

they need to stop with the shoegaze, post-rocky, slow boring shit totally. if they made songs as captivating and heavy as the first two over and over, they'd make the most incredible record
