I can see how the colder wintry weather supports immersion, trudging through the snow in a virtual blizzard really helped me 5/5 Sacramentum & I jammed a lot of these guys during that time as well.



As time has moved on I no longer see it as essential, but for that breaking in period with a 'new' album/artist it can definitely help.
