Aftermath is really an incredibly beautiful song. It can lull you to sleep after the rest of the album, but if you really listen to it for what it is I would argue it's one of Muse's best.

btw nice review Sowing. I enjoy Mercy and Aftermath a little more than you do and Reapers/Handler a little less than you do, but other than that I'm in agreement with your overall assessment.

Showbiz is really underrated. While I don't necessarily enjoy The 2nd Law holistically, I think it's underrated in the fact that I think it's Matthew's best vocal performance

I like a few of the songs on 2nd Law just about as much as any of their best work (Supremacy and Animals in particular) and I really don't mind them experimenting with their sound -- the thing that drags the album down for me though is just the total lack of cohesion. It's a messy mish-mash, whereas Resistance--although it was also a break from their traditional sound--held together as a total package.
