I said I hate it, well I don't hate it I just think it is 1/10th as good as everyone says and that their are far more important and influencial punk albums.

I'VE GOT A BONEEE TO PICK WITH CAPITALISM

i don't know his delivery is nice but that lyric is the gayest way to open an album(excuse the rhetoric, but it felt appropriate).

That Capitalism is organized crime.

as is socialism and most other forms of running a country. every system involves coercion.

but i mean regardless as much as i appreciate the sentiment, the way the vocalist expresses it is so shallow, the lyric might as well be "capitalism is evil! fuck capitalism!"

It has that energy though.

Let's not turn this into a capitalism versus socialism debate. However I must raise the question as to why Refused had complaints regarding capitalism when Sweden is one of the most socialistic (albeit more of a socialist-leaning market system) countries in the world. Who knows.

probably cause he's anti-market entirely

"human life is not a commodity" and whatnot. I don't think he's against poor wages and shitty conditions per se, but rather hes against wage labor in general.

I agree that it's silly, but it's a common and respected philosophy. That means he's either total government control of all capital and resources or he's what's commonly referred to as a "libertarian socialist", in which he supports worker's direct expropriation of capital.

The lyrics are great and mostly compassionate. I agree with the core of what he's saying even if not nearly at as a radical point.

There's so many anthemic lines here.

Libertarian socialism is quite interesting but it's about as realistic as laissez-faire capitalism that works out for everyone.

Communism would only work if Jesus was the leader.

"It could be dangerous. Art...as a real threat."

"The destruction of everything is the beginning of something new. Your new world is on fi-yerrrrrrr....."

It's all very romantic. Upped to a 5 again - Tannhauser/Derive and New Noise are the highlights for me.

My favorite song is either The Deadly Rhythm or The Shape of Punk to Come. I don't know, so hard to decide, all of it's perfect.

They told me the classics would never go out of style...but they do.

Fortunately, Refused are beyond style altogether. Love this album. Heard New Noise when I was 7 and it blew me away.

I really like the riff in Refused are Fuckin Dead. But every song is awesome, of course.
