I was definitely just venting in general about people comparing everything The Contortionist does to Exoplanet. I like Exoplanet a lot, but for some reason I get the feeling that even if they did make another album like it, we'd just all feel disappointed.

I'd welcome a new Exoplanet, but I know that's not in their sights. They've evolved their music, good for them, but I think it's for the worse. They went from being potential game-changers and leaders of a scene to becoming another number in the generic prog sphere. Mostly forgettable at this point, which is sad.

I don't expect or want another exoplanet. But I do expect them to keep up their technicality instrumental wise. The new track was just so boring and plain. Even the slower tracks on Language bear out the new track by a lot.
