first half >>>> second half for me. i like his more experimental, non-abrasive take on hip-hop. i
still love a lot of the songs in the latter half, especially red to go, dubstep, kush coma, and float
on, but the rest aren't nearly as good. still great in their own right, and well-suited for certain
situations (clubs, parties, etc), but don't hold my interest like the rest.

Red 2 Go is a definite warm-up for side B though.

Gyro I feel like side b is more "experimental" than side a. The first half is the "old Danny Brown" kinda stuff. J-Dilla influenced, horns and stuff, rapping about the ghetto. Not very experimental if you ask me. I probably like side b more, but they're so different. Smokin n Drinkin is the best song on this album though, we have different favourites for sure (Kush Coma is one of my least favourites).

I love everything about Danny's performance on Kush Coma, chorus be damned. He really sounds depraved in that song.

The experimentalism on Side A is in the beats and production, which imo is more exotic and varied than the club banger stuff on

Side B. Side B is still fucking rad but no amount of bass can beat Lonely, Torture etc

i think i prefer side b... i just associate danny brown with that kinda stuff. i love this album cause it shows how multitalented he is GREATEST RAPPER EVER etc

I'll be damned if "Dubstep" isn't one of the most experimental songs on here.

I'm not necessarily saying Side B is more experimental, because I'm not even sure what I would mean by that. Experimental for Danny, or for what's expected in hip-hop? Maybe Side A is more of an excursion for Danny, while moments of B are more innovative in terms of rap itself.

Side b isnt experimental in any way shape or form

adrian: that's fair, although i respectfully disagree. i think most of the more experimental stuff is
on side a (torture, lonely, gremlins, etc) and side b is, if anything, more akin to his signature
sound. at least we're in agreement that this is a 5/5
